📋 Description

• As VP, Global Procurement at Cengage Learning Holdings II, Inc., you will lead the strategic direction and operational execution of procurement across the global organization, directly impacting cost efficiency, supply reliability, and vendor performance to support Cengage’s mission of empowering learners through education technology.
• Day to day, you will establish group-wide sourcing models, develop purchasing strategies across spend categories, drive continuous improvement in vendor spend through analytics and market reviews, lead vendor selection and negotiations, manage procurement policy adherence, and collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and Operations to optimize procure-to-pay processes.
• You will join a mission-driven global education technology company serving millions of learners, where innovation in digital learning platforms like MindTap and Cengage Unlimited is central to helping students achieve academic and career success.
• In this role, you will develop expertise in global strategic sourcing, influence enterprise-wide procurement transformation, mentor and build high-performing teams, and gain visibility into C-suite financial and operational decision-making while advancing your leadership in a purpose-led organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Engineering, Business, or a technical field
• 10 or more years of strong progressive management experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain Operations with team leadership and strategic sourcing direction setting
• Experience across vendor types including software, T&E, Professional Services, and Contractors
• Ability to develop and mentor others
• Comfort guiding and interpreting sophisticated spend analysis
• Proven negotiating skills with strong project leadership experience
• Knowledge and experience with SAP preferred
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 10% of time
