  • • Wintrust Asset Finance, a distinguished equipment-focused financing group, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Vice President of New Business Development to spearhead the origination of substantial equipment finance and lease transactions across the nation.
  • • This pivotal role involves cultivating and managing relationships with commercial companies spanning diverse industries, including transportation, construction, manufacturing, energy services, aviation, and turn-key property, plant, and equipment.
  • • As an integral part of Wintrust, a robust financial services entity boasting over $66 billion in assets, you will leverage a strong corporate backing to drive significant growth and market penetration.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be direct prospecting, identifying and engaging potential clients through strategic outreach and networking.
  • • You will be instrumental in managing the entire customer lifecycle, from the initial point of contact and transaction award through to the complexities of credit underwriting and final funding.
  • • A key component of this role involves a proactive approach to business development, including making a high volume of daily outbound cold calls to identify and secure new clients.
  • • Simultaneously, you will nurture and expand existing relationships with middle-market companies, ensuring continued engagement and identifying opportunities for further business.
  • • To effectively support your prospecting efforts, you will conduct thorough industry, business, and collateral research, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics.
  • • Meticulous record-keeping and database management are essential; you will utilize WCF’s existing CRM platform to build and maintain a detailed and organized database of prospects and clients, facilitating efficient follow-up and strategic planning.
  • • While the role is remote, you will be expected to visit prospective and existing clients on an as-needed basis to foster strong, personal relationships and gain deeper insights into their operations.
  • • Collaboration with the marketing team is crucial for executing targeted database marketing initiatives, designed to generate a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • • You will work in close partnership with the Vice President of Direct Originations to meticulously analyze, price, and structure complex transactions, ensuring both client satisfaction and profitability.
  • • A significant aspect of the role involves assisting in the preparation of compelling investment presentations, which must exhibit thoughtful, well-reasoned decisions and clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • • Continuous learning and adherence to established WCF policies and procedures are paramount; you will actively participate in training sessions to stay abreast of industry best practices and company guidelines.
