Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As the VP of Marketing Operations, you will serve as the CMO's indispensable operational right-hand, architecting and refining the entire marketing operating system. This pivotal role demands a strategic visionary who can translate high-level objectives into actionable plans, ensuring that marketing initiatives are driven by clear priorities, underpinned by reliable data, and executed with repeatable, efficient processes that seamlessly integrate with our sales and revenue operations.
- • You will be instrumental in leading the annual and quarterly strategic planning cycles, defining and tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that align marketing efforts with broader business goals. This includes managing the cadence of business reviews (QBRs, MBRs) and weekly staff meetings for the CMO organization, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- • A core responsibility will be the meticulous ownership of the marketing budget. This encompasses planning, tracking expenditures, and implementing robust spend governance to ensure that marketing investments are directly tied to measurable outcomes. You will be adept at reallocating resources based on performance data, maximizing ROI and driving efficiency.
- • You will be the architect of marketing processes and workflows, defining, documenting, and continuously improving critical operational elements. This includes intake processes for new initiatives, campaign execution workflows, approval mechanisms, launch readiness checks, event follow-up procedures, and partner-related marketing motions, ensuring a smooth and efficient operational flow.
- • Establishing a comprehensive KPI framework across the entire marketing funnel is paramount. You will maintain and evolve dashboards that provide clear visibility into key metrics such as pipeline generation, conversion rates, sales velocity, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making at all levels.
- • Ownership of Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) operations is a key facet of this role. You will manage the intricacies of our MAP (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot), defining lifecycle stages, implementing effective scoring and routing rules, and developing sophisticated nurture drip frameworks to optimize lead engagement and progression.
- • You will define and refine the critical lead-to-sales interface, establishing clear definitions for lead stages (MQL, SQL, SAL, etc.), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), routing rules, and notification systems. Ensuring closed-loop reporting and feedback mechanisms with Sales and Revenue Operations (RevOps) is essential for optimizing the sales funnel.
- • Developing and implementing a trusted attribution approach will be a significant undertaking. You will drive experimentation and leverage insights from attribution models to guide marketing spend, program optimization, and strategic decision-making, providing leadership with confidence in marketing's impact.
- • Maintaining the integrity and hygiene of the marketing database is crucial. You will own data quality initiatives, enrichment strategies, segmentation structures, consent compliance, and governance in close collaboration with RevOps, ensuring a reliable foundation for all marketing activities.
- • Oversight of website operations includes managing website performance, driving conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives, ensuring technical governance, and overseeing the integration of the website with our analytics platforms, MAP, and CRM.
- • You will own the operational execution and reporting for SEO and SEM programs, including process management, performance measurement, and vendor governance where applicable, ensuring these critical channels are optimized for maximum impact.
- • As a Chief of Staff to the CMO, you will also undertake a range of strategic support duties. This includes drafting executive readouts, preparing leadership board materials, driving key strategic initiatives from inception to completion, proactively unblocking cross-functional work, and ensuring accountability across the marketing organization.
- • This role requires extensive collaboration with a diverse set of cross-functional partners, including the CMO leadership team, RevOps and Sales Ops, Sales leadership, Finance, IT Security, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Web Development, and Data/BI teams. Building strong, collaborative relationships will be key to success.
