- • As a Warehouse Operations Lead on the 2nd shift at Cardinal Health, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and safe flow of critical medical products through our distribution center. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of service our customers expect, directly impacting the availability of essential healthcare supplies.
- • You will be responsible for overseeing a combination of manual and automated tasks essential for the receipt, storage, and shipment of products. This encompasses a wide range of activities, including but not limited to, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, and inventory management.
- • A key aspect of your role will involve training new employees on established company and departmental procedures, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively and safely.
- • You will actively monitor and ensure that safety, productivity, and quality standards are consistently met, taking proactive steps to address any deviations and implement corrective actions.
- • This position requires a strong focus on maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards, accurate inventory control, and strict adherence to all Quality, Regulatory, and Safety (QRA) requirements, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory mandates.
- • You will provide essential support to all employees within the distribution center, assisting with various functions such as unloading trucks manually and using material handling equipment.
- • Accurately breaking down and stocking incoming freight in accordance with QRA standards and local procedures is a critical responsibility, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of inventory.
- • You will be involved in the order processing cycle, which includes accurately picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, and loading products for shipment.
- • Leading team meetings will be a regular part of your duties, fostering communication, addressing concerns, and aligning the team with operational goals.
- • You will be expected to identify and solve minor operational issues as they arise, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintaining workflow continuity.
- • In addition to leading, you will also be expected to work in production as needed, providing hands-on support to ensure operational targets are met during peak times or when staffing is a challenge.
- • This role requires flexibility to work overtime based on business needs, ensuring that operational demands are always met, regardless of the time or day.
- • You will apply extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and company policies to complete a wide range of assignments, demonstrating a thorough understanding of your role and its impact on the broader organization.
- • You will develop an expert understanding of all aspects of warehouse operations and gain thorough knowledge of jobs outside your immediate area of responsibility, contributing to a well-rounded operational perspective.
- • You will take the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills to accomplish assignments, driving continuous improvement within the team.
- • You may provide technical guidance and training to less experienced team members, acting as a mentor and knowledge resource.
- • Maintaining appropriate licenses, training, and certifications relevant to warehouse operations and equipment operation is essential.
- • You will work on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse.
- • You will make recommendations for new or revised processes and play a role in their implementation, actively contributing to the evolution of operational strategies.
