- • Translate content between English and Finnish while preserving cultural nuance, clarity, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated language content for accuracy, tone, and adherence to industry-specific terminology in fields such as Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Theology.
- • Apply current language standards, usage trends, and best practices to all translation deliverables.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of AI language models through human-verified corrections and annotations.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize digital tools, applications, and content for Finnish-speaking markets.
- • Support content development and quality assurance processes for multilingual AI-driven platforms and enterprise software.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text to ensure natural, culturally appropriate expression in Finnish without literal translation.
- • Work as an independent contractor with full autonomy over schedule, workload, and project selection—no fixed hours or mandatory check-ins.
- • Accept tasks requiring a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week, ensuring reliable availability and consistent on-time delivery.
- • Maintain strict adherence to provided terminology guides, reference materials, and style preferences for each project.
- • Contribute to a global community of linguists advancing human-machine communication through high-quality, human-verified language data.
- • Engage with diverse, innovative projects that expand professional expertise across multiple domains and industries.
- • Operate as a 1099 contractor, responsible for own tax obligations and without benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions.
- • Ensure compliance with geographic restrictions; contractors must not reside in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions.
- • Participate in a streamlined onboarding process including CV submission, domain-specific translation testing, and payment setup upon selection.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Finnish
- • Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies OR graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely
- • Reliable availability to meet minimum workload expectations of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week
- • Access to stable internet and digital tools required for remote translation work
- • Willingness to work as an independent contractor without guaranteed hours or employee benefits
