- • Translate content between English and native Malayalam while preserving cultural nuance, tone, and contextual accuracy across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated content to ensure linguistic clarity, grammatical correctness, and adherence to current language standards and usage trends.
- • Apply best practices in localization to adapt digital content for Malayalam-speaking markets, including apps, websites, and enterprise software interfaces.
- • Perform transcreation when necessary, creatively reimagining source text to ensure natural, idiomatic, and culturally resonant output in Malayalam.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of machine translation models used in Lilt’s AI-driven language systems.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to support end-to-end localization workflows for multilingual digital tools and applications.
- • Contribute to quality assurance processes by reviewing translations for accuracy, consistency, and domain-specific terminology in fields such as Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance.
- • Deliver high-quality translations on tight deadlines while maintaining consistency across multiple projects and clients.
- • Engage with a global community of linguists and language professionals to share insights and improve translation quality through peer feedback and collaborative standards.
- • Work independently on a project-by-project basis, managing your own workflow without fixed hours or micromanagement.
- • Accept tasks that require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week, ensuring reliable availability and commitment to on-time delivery.
- • Adapt to varying content types and domains, leveraging subject matter familiarity to produce accurate and contextually appropriate translations.
- • Participate in domain-specific testing when required, demonstrating expertise in specialized terminology and industry-specific language conventions.
- • Contribute to the advancement of AI-human collaboration in language technology by validating and refining outputs from automated systems.
- • Maintain professional standards as an independent contractor, including timely communication, ethical handling of confidential content, and adherence to Lilt’s quality guidelines.
- • Build a diverse professional portfolio through exposure to global enterprise, government, and AI development projects across multiple industries.
- • Operate remotely from India with full flexibility in scheduling, choosing when and how much to work based on personal availability and project demand.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Malayalam
- • ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: Either a recognized graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; OR a recognized graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Reliable internet access and ability to meet minimum commitment of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week
- • Ability to deliver high-quality translations consistently under project-based deadlines
- • Experience with digital localization for apps, websites, or enterprise software
- • Familiarity with translation management systems and ability to follow structured feedback protocols
