- • Translate content between English and Punjabi with precise accuracy while preserving cultural nuance, tone, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated language content to ensure clarity, fluency, and adherence to current linguistic standards and usage trends.
- • Apply best practices in localization to adapt digital content for Punjabi-speaking markets, ensuring it resonates naturally with native audiences.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of language models used in AI-driven translation systems.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to support content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text beyond literal translation to ensure natural, engaging, and culturally appropriate output in Punjabi.
- • Deliver high-quality translations across diverse domains including Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, as assigned based on expertise and project demand.
- • Maintain consistency in terminology and style across all deliverables using provided glossaries, style guides, and reference materials.
- • Complete translation tasks within agreed deadlines while upholding strict quality benchmarks set by Lilt’s standards.
- • Respond to feedback and revisions from reviewers or reviewers’ teams to refine deliverables and ensure client satisfaction.
- • Engage with the global community of linguists and language professionals to share insights and contribute to the evolution of multilingual AI technologies.
- • Work independently as an independent contractor, managing personal workflow and scheduling without fixed hours or micromanagement.
- • Accept tasks only when available, ensuring reliable commitment to deliver a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week when work is assigned.
- • Adhere to Lilt’s privacy and data handling protocols when processing sensitive or confidential content during translation.
- • Participate in domain-specific testing when required to demonstrate proficiency in specialized subject areas prior to project assignment.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving language trends, idiomatic expressions, and digital communication norms in both English and Punjabi.
- • Ensure all deliverables meet ISO 17100 certification criteria through professional standards of quality and methodology.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Punjabi
- • Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies OR a graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Reliable availability to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week when tasks are assigned
- • Ability to work independently as an independent contractor with no guaranteed hours or fixed schedule
- • Access to a stable internet connection and appropriate digital tools for translation and communication
- • Willingness to comply with Lilt’s privacy policies and data handling requirements for sensitive content
