📋 Description

• Translate content between English and native Tamil language while preserving cultural nuance, clarity, and contextual accuracy across digital platforms.
• Edit and refine translated content to ensure linguistic precision, appropriate tone, and alignment with domain-specific terminology in fields such as Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance.
• Apply current language standards, usage trends, and industry best practices to all translation and editing deliverables.
• Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality and performance of AI-powered language models used in machine translation systems.
• Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize digital content for Tamil-speaking markets, ensuring cultural relevance and user comprehension.
• Support content development, localization, and quality assurance processes for software applications, websites, and other digital tools.
• Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text beyond literal translation to ensure natural, idiomatic, and contextually appropriate output in Tamil.
• Work independently on assigned translation tasks with no fixed hours or mandatory check-ins, managing your own schedule and workload.
• Deliver high-quality work on time for tasks that require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week of consistent availability.
• Contribute to a global community of linguists and language professionals advancing AI and human-verified multilingual technologies.
• Engage with diverse, innovative projects across industries that expand your professional expertise and portfolio.
• Operate as an independent contractor with full responsibility for your own tax obligations and compliance, without entitlement to employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions.
• Accept tasks only when your schedule permits, ensuring reliable commitment to deadlines and quality standards.
• Participate in a streamlined onboarding process including submission of an English CV, potential domain-specific testing, and completion of payment and account setup.

🎯 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Tamil
• ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: either a recognized graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; OR a recognized graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
• Reliable daily availability of at least 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week
• Access to stable internet connectivity and digital tools required for remote translation work
