- • Translate content between English and native Urdu with precision, preserving cultural nuance, tone, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to current language standards and usage trends.
- • Apply best practices in localization to adapt digital content for Urdu-speaking markets, including software interfaces, marketing materials, and technical documentation.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of AI language models through human-verified corrections and annotations.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text to ensure natural, culturally appropriate resonance in Urdu without literal translation.
- • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to support content development, quality assurance, and localization workflows for AI-driven applications.
- • Deliver high-quality linguistic outputs on assigned tasks with consistent adherence to deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- • Work independently as an independent contractor with full autonomy over schedule and workload, selecting projects based on availability and expertise.
- • Contribute to a global network of linguists and language professionals advancing human-machine communication through cutting-edge AI technology.
- • Engage with diverse projects spanning Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance domains, expanding subject-matter expertise across industries.
- • Maintain professional standards in all deliverables, ensuring consistency in terminology, style, and formatting according to project guidelines.
- • Participate in onboarding steps including test assessments in specialized domains and completion of contractual and payment setup processes.
- • Operate in compliance with geographic and regulatory requirements, ensuring no conflict with international embargo or sanctions restrictions.
- • Accept responsibility for own tax obligations and compliance as a 1099 contractor, with no employer-provided benefits or guaranteed hours.
- • Commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week of reliable availability to ensure timely task completion and project continuity.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Urdu
- • ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: either a recognized graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; OR a recognized graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Reliable internet connection and consistent daily availability of at least 2 hours or 10 hours per week
- • Ability to work independently as an independent contractor with no expectation of benefits, health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions
- • Willingness to complete domain-specific test assessments as part of the onboarding process
- • Compliance with geographic restrictions — must not be located in regions subject to international embargo or sanctions
