- • Design, write, optimize, and audit smart contracts in Solidity with a focus on performance, clarity, and security
- • Build DeFi primitives from scratch including vaults, lending mechanics, staking, and other protocol-level components
- • Develop adapters, connectors, and plugins for the Liquid Lane product across varying levels of complexity
- • Contribute to the design and development of greenfield financial products built on Symbiotic’s stack
- • Conduct and support security audits, identifying vulnerabilities and hardening contracts against common attack vectors
- • Extend and maintain existing smart contract systems including core contracts, core extensions, and middleware SDK
- • Build beyond the contract layer when necessary, creating simple frontends, indexers, or internal tooling to deliver work end-to-end
- • Work across the full technical stack as required, functioning as a fullstack developer when the task demands it
- • Apply deep knowledge of EVM internals including execution flow, memory/storage models, gas mechanics, and precompiles
- • Leverage understanding of DeFi protocols and primitives — such as lending protocols, DEXes, and stablecoins — to anticipate failure modes and design robust systems
- • Maintain a strong security mindset focused on contract optimization and mitigation of known attack vectors
- • Collaborate with a tight-knit team of experienced builders at the forefront of financial infrastructure
- • Operate with ownership and urgency in an early-stage company environment where initiative is trusted and supported
- • Contribute to scaling Symbiotic’s core protocol and the financial products built on top of it, supporting 80+ vaults, 74,000+ active stakers, and 111 operators
- • Work with production systems integrated by Chainlink, Nexus Mutual, and Cap Labs
🎯 Requirements
- • Expert in Solidity with deep knowledge of EVM internals: execution flow, memory/storage models, gas mechanics, and precompiles
- • Strong grasp of DeFi protocols and primitives — how lending protocols, DEXes, stablecoins work, where they break, and common pitfalls
- • Strong security mindset: familiar with common attack vectors, contract optimization, and the audit process
- • Comfortable working across the stack when a task calls for it — able to function as a fullstack developer
- • Solid computer science fundamentals — algorithms, low-level reasoning about how code executes
